We are not associated with the Alberta Association of Professional Paralegals (“AAPP”). In 2025, the AAPP made it abundantly clear that the AAPP does not support us (the Edmonton Family Network) with our mission because we use certain words on our website to describe high-conflict characteristics which they have deemed as inappropriate and unprofessional, and it is their collective opinion that it brings the AAPP, by association, into disrepute. If you share their opinion, we encourage you to explore the AAPP Directory of Paralegal Practitioners once they launch one for the public, so that you may find a paralegal service provider that the AAPP deems fit. We will share a link to their directory once we learn that it has become available. If you wish to interact with us despite the informal language we use on our website, we would be happy to hear from you.
Any personal information sent to the Edmonton Family Network will be treated as private and confidential. We will not share our data or information unless:
(a) we have permission to share the information;
(b) we are required by law or by a court order;
(c) the information is requested by the Law Society;
(d) there is immediate risk to the safety of our client; or,
(e) there is legitimate concern for the safety of others.
If the Edmonton Family Network identifies a conflict of interest or a potential conflict, we will promptly take steps to address it. This could mean that certain members of our team are restricted or outside help could be brought in to adequately address the situation. The facts of the situation will determine the steps we take.
